Art in progress
Over the next few weeks I’m planing on working on a few large scale landscape paintings. I want to focus on creating landscapes that are a little more realistic but still whimsical enough to be considered a “Bremner”. I am really drawn to these wide open spaces at the moment as apposed to the closed in tangled of trees I’m usually painting. I am still working from imagination, these landscapes are not real places... instead they are created from a feeling of the area I live in.
I am inspired by landscapes by Brett Whiteley at the moment, especially the rolling hills and curving streams in the above sketches. I want these landscapes to be loose and have movement within them. Wild sky’s and broard sweeps of expressive brushstrokes.
